Harriet's picture (via Joanne)

Here is Harriet's (via Joanne) image of a "Wild Thing". Harriet is in Grade 2 and was unable to manipulate this wiki or a blog (I didn't really give her the opportunity to try!) but she used Paintbox for the first time to create her image and had no problems. She had heard the story before but obviously the book illustrations had little impact on her imagination of a ''Wild Thing".

This is my picture of the Wild thing with yellow eyes, sharp teeth and claws (and it's very hairy too)Here is Cathy's picture - I think the story is pretty scary and the wild things might be mean with their big yellow eyes and sharp claws and teeth with blood dripping off!

Millicent's Wild Thing

Millicent (Joanne's 5 year old daughter) also wanted a Wild Thing published on the internet. She also listened to the story with interest but I suspect tried to copy her big sister's picture. She did a great job of using Paint.

"Where The Wild Things Are" illustrations and comments - Where the wild things are "Wild Things" Image by Melissa Sabo This is my graphical rendition of "The Wild Things". I have created this image using various shapes in Fireworks. I suppose as an adult my rendition will be different to that of a child, who perhaps would have a fear of "monsters lurking in the dark".

Anna-Lise
This first picture is mine (Anna-Lise). I always imagine scary things to be in the dark, and the Wild Things to have both animal and human characteristics.
