Harriet is in Grade 2 and was unable to manipulate this wiki or a blog (I didn't really give her the opportunity to try!) but she used Paintbox for the first time to create her image and had no problems. She had heard the story before but obviously the book illustrations had little impact on her imagination of a ''Wild Thing".

Here is Cathy's picture - I think the story is pretty scary and the wild things might be mean with their big yellow eyes and sharp claws and teeth with blood dripping off!

Millicent (Joanne's 5 year old daughter) also wanted a Wild Thing published on the internet. She also listened to the story with interest but I suspect tried to copy her big sister's picture. She did a great job of using Paint.

"Wild Things" Image by Melissa Sabo This is my graphical rendition of "The Wild Things". I have created this image using various shapes in Fireworks. I suppose as an adult my rendition will be different to that of a child, who perhaps would have a fear of "monsters lurking in the dark".

This first picture is mine (Anna-Lise). I always imagine scary things to be in the dark, and the Wild Things to have both animal and human characteristics.

The second picture was done by my 6 year old daughter Otilia, who listened to the story and then created this picture with Paint. The story made her think of dinosaurs.

Give a brief description and explanation for your graphical rendition of the "Wild Things".

Give a brief description and explanation for your graphical rendition of the "Wild Things".

Give a brief description and explanation for your graphical rendition of the "Wild Things".

Give a brief description and explanation for your graphical rendition of the "Wild Things".

Give a brief description and explanation for your graphical rendition of the "Wild Things".

An Analysis of the illustrations by Maurice Sendak

There is no abstract available for this page revision.

Evalution / Feedback

Please click on the attached pdf file (below) to access the Evaluation feed back page.

Home

Part C of "Where The Wild Things Are" learning task

• Before 22 May, Input your graphical rendition of the "wild things" in part A at the page titled "Where The Wild Things Are illustrations and comments".
